Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy can be helpful for a wide range of injuries and conditions including orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, chronic aches and pains, and more. Physiotherapy treatments involve manual therapy, exercise, education for self management strategies, and occasionally the use of therapeutic modalities including shockwave, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation. Registered Physiotherapist Laura is also trained in acupuncture which can be a beneficial adjunct to treatment.
Athletic Therapy
Athletic Therapy (AT) is an active approach to rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Certified Athletic Therapists CAT(C) specialize in the assessment, treatment and prevention of injuries involving bones, joints and muscles. They have extensive exercise knowledge and use a combination of exercise prescription, manual therapy and modalities to get you feeling better. The difference between physiotherapy and athletic therapy varies in different settings, but a lot of overlap is seen in the clinic setting. ATs are also often found on the sidelines of high level sports games but work with individuals of all ages and abilities. Many insurance companies do cover athletic therapy so be sure to check your policy!
PLEASE NOTE: As of July 1st, Initial Athletic Therapy Assessment will be $90+HST and Athletic Therapy Treatment will be $60+HST

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Pelvic health physiotherapy is an evidence-based treatment for common conditions within the pelvis such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. A comprehensive subjective and objective evaluation is conducted to identify all the factors that are contributing to your symptoms. A treatment plan will be formulated with personalized short and long-term goals. Conditions treated include but are not limited to: bladder or bowel leakage, pain with intercourse, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, chronic back or hip pain, pregnancy and post-partum concerns, tailbone pain, prostate removal complications, and more.
The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that attach to the front, back and sides of the pelvic bone and sacrum, which act like a hammock or sling. They also wrap around your urethra (where urine comes out), rectum, and vagina (in women). The pelvic floor muscles work to facilitate proper bowel and bladder function, provide internal organ support, contribute to back and pelvic girdle stability, aid in sexual function, and play a role in your lymphatic system.
Physiotherapy Pilates
One-on-one Sessions: Physiotherapy-Pilates, or Clinical Pilates is an excellent combination of two practices that can help individuals with a range of conditions. Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing posture. Physiotherapy, on the other hand, is a treatment that aims to restore physical function and mobility through exercises, stretches, and hands-on techniques.
When combined, physiotherapy-pilates can help individuals with injuries, chronic pain, or mobility issues to improve their overall physical health and wellbeing. Pilates exercises are low-impact and can be tailored to suit individual needs and abilities, from beginner to athlete level. Movements can be modified to accommodate any physical limitations or injuries, while working towards rehabilitation and recovery under the guidance of the physiotherapist and certified Pilates instructor.
